FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State volleyball team is back in action with week with a pair of road matches at Colorado State and Wyoming.
The Bulldogs are set to face the Rams on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Fort Collins and then will head to Laramie to challenge the Cowgirls on Saturday at noon. Both games will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.
FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY
The Bulldogs face Colorado State and Wyoming this weekend in their only matches of the season.
Fresno State defeated Wyoming in both matches played in the 2024 season, taking the Cowgirls to five sets in each match.
The Bulldogs split the 2024 season with Colorado State, as they lost their first match on the road and then defeated the Rams in four sets at home.
NEW KID ON THE BLOCK
Freshman Brooklyn Washington has earned a spot as a starting middle blocker for the Bulldogs this season.
She currently leads the team in blocks with 67.0 recorded this season.
This includes 13 solo assists and 54 block assists.
The Fresno native has the ninth most blocks in the league in conference play this season, with 7 solos and 30 assists.
VALLEY GIRLS
Four members of the Bulldog Volleyball roster are hometown kids who grew up in either Fresno or Clovis, California.
Clara Garcia and Jayden Xiong were both raised in Clovis, while Peyton Bitter and Brooklyn Washington are Fresno Natives.
Washington's mother was on the track & field team while her father was on the football team, Garcia's mom was on the swim & dive roster, and
Xiong's parents are both proud Fresno State alums.
