FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's track and field team will send eight athletes to College Station, Texas for the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field West First Round, held at E.B. Cushing Stadium on May 28-31. The Bulldogs competing in College Station will be vying for a spot at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. on June 11-14.
Of Fresno State's eight entries, Cierra Jackson, Jewel Ash and Janae Heffernan will each compete in multiple events during the women's two days.
Cierra Jackson - Hammer Throw, Discus, Shot Put
Emma Harper - Hammer Throw
Harriette Mortlock - Javelin
Liz Tarczy - High Jump
Janae Heffernan - Long Jump, 4x400 relay
Jewel Ash - 400 meter hurdles, 4x400 relay
Miana Giovannini - 4x400 relay
Itzia Mejia Garcia - 4x400 relay
Sophomore Ella Spaulding automatically qualifies for the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon, ranking No. 24 in the nation. She will be with the group in College Station as an alternate for the 4x400 relay team.
