FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State head football coach Matt Entz announced the signing of transfer quarterback Carson Conklin to the Bulldogs' roster for 2025. Conklin had a decorated career in two seasons at Sacramento State.
Conklin heads down the 99 and into the Central Valley with 3,620 career passing yards and a .608 career completion percentage (312-of-513). He has thrown 34 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions in 16 career games.
In 2024, Conklin earned freshman All-America honors from a pair of outlets and was a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, which goes to the top freshman in the FCS. He set school records by a freshman with 2,876 yards passing and 28 touchdowns. He finished the year with a .623 completion percentage (261-of-419).
He redshirted as a true freshman in the 2023 season, but competed in the final four games of the season with two starts in that span. He finished the year with 744 yards and six touchdowns, while completing 51-of-94 pass attempts.
Conklin was an early enrollee at Sacramento State, graduating early from Centennial High School in Corona, Calif. He played three seasons of varsity football at Centennial, and helped his team go 24-4 overall with a 14-1 record in league games during that time.
The Yorba Linda, Calif. native has three years of eligibility remaining.
