'Dogs wrap up TCU series with 12-6 loss

FORT WORTH, TX. – The Fresno State baseball team dropped its final game against TCU, 12-6, on Sunday in Fort Worth.

With the 12-6, the Bulldogs fell to 5-10 on the season, while TCU improved to 12-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After being held scoreless in the opening inning, Fresno State found their rhythm in the second. A two-RBI double from Griffen Sotomayor put the Bulldogs on the board and gave them an early lead. The offensive work continued in the third inning, highlighted by a three-run blast off the bat of Bobby Blandford. Cam Schneider also chipped in with a RBI single, giving Fresno State a commanding 6-1 advantage heading into the fourth.

The Horned Frogs began to mount a comeback in the bottom of the fourth inning. TCU jumpstarted its rally with a triple that plated two runs, and another RBI single cut the Bulldogs' lead to just two runs.

Aidan Cremarosa, Fresno State's starting pitcher, worked through five innings but allowed eight hits and five earned runs as TCU continued to chip away.

In the sixth inning, TCU drew even closer when a wild pitch allowed a run to score, making it 6-5. Despite their early offensive surge, the Bulldogs' bats fell silent, managing only one hit across the final six innings.

Fresno State's bullpen faced trouble in the seventh inning, as TCU exploded for four runs and added two more in the eighth.

With the 12-6 loss, the Bulldogs fell to 5-10 on the season, while TCU improved to 12-4.
