NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America announced that the Fresno State men's golf team had four golfers selected to the 2023-24 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for NCAA Division I.

Mason Benbrook, Joseph Lloyd, Matthew Manganello and Matthew Sutherland represented the Bulldogs on the Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar team.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior, or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. Lloyd earned his first All-America Scholar honor after another stellar season as a Bulldog. Lloyd owned a 71.8 scoring average with four top 20 finishes. The Scottsdale, Ariz. native finished in second place at the prestigious Maui Jim Intercollegiate after shooting a career-low 17-under 196, setting a new program record.

It is the third career All-America Scholar selection for Manganello. He capped a phenomenal career at Fresno State with a 71.1 scoring average and seven top 20 finishes. The Las Vegas, Nev. native tied the program record lowest round vs. par with a 9-under 62 at the Nick Watney Invitational.

Sutherland finished an outstanding career at Fresno State with a team-best 70.1 scoring average. The All-Mountain West selection had five top 5 finishes and eight Top 20 finishes on the year.
