Pace breaks triple jump school record at Stanford Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. – In her first triple jump event of the outdoor season, Fresno State indoor record holder Rachela Pace broke the program's outdoor record in the event at the Stanford Invitational. It was one of nine Top-10 finishes on Saturday.

On her third attempt of the event, Pace recorded a mark of 13.12m/43-0.5. The jump surpassed Crystal Simmons' mark of 13.06m/42-10.25 which had stood since 2001. Pace becomes the only Bulldog women's triple jumper to have marks over 13 meters in both indoor and outdoor.

Pace placed second overall in the event. The junior was the only collegian to record a mark over 13 meters.

Fresno State also picked up a second-place finish in the women's 4x400 relay as Chloe Sharp, Janae Heffernan, Miana Giovannini and Ceonna Pipion clocked a time of 3:40.88. It was one of three Top 10's for the 'Dogs in the relays on the day (women's 4x100, men's 4x100).

In the invite section of the discus, Cierra Jackson and Jordyn Bryant finished fourth and seventh, respectively. Jackson had a best throw of 56.83m/186-5 while Bryant's was 54.53m/178-11.
