Crying children are just part of air travel, but what happened with one mother flying out of Los Angeles shows the amazing amount of compassion some people have.
Beth Bornstein Dunnington, a witness to the event, was so moved by it that she had to write about it on Facebook in a post that has gone viral.
She explained how she was waiting for her flight and saw a pregnant woman struggling to calm her tantruming toddler but overwhelmed by the situation. The young mom gave up and sat on the ground crying as her son laid next to her kicking and screaming.
What happened next is what's remarkable. Women throughout the terminal, all strangers, approached the overcome mother and sat in a circle around her and her boy. The seven strangers sang "The Itsy Bitsy Spider."
One of them women gave the child an orange while another handed him a toy to play with and a third handed the mom water. Both mother and child were able to calm down and get on their flight smoothly. All the then women went their separate ways.
Beth wrote, "We were strangers, gathering to solve something. It occurred to me that a circle of women, with a mission, can save the world. I will never forget that moment."
Her story has been shared thousands of times and that has also moved Beth, who posted about how kindness matters.
