An Ohio man was arrested after he accidentally sending crystal meth through the drive-thru air tube at a bank last week.

Jason G. Smith, 46, of Woodsfield was detained by Monroe County Deputies last Wednesday (December 3), the department confirmed in a post shared on its Facebook. Police received a report of an unknown substance being sent through the tube and responding deputies "recovered a baggie containing a crystal like substance consistent with methamphetamine."

Smith claimed to have sent unknowingly after being located in Wayne Township by Ohio Department of Natural Resources officers. Additional suspected drugs and drug-related items were found in Smith's truck by deputies with assistance from K9 Max at the time of his arrest.

Smith was transported to Monroe County Jail, though his charges weren't announced publicly.

"Illegal drugs don’t belong in bank drive-thrus — but they can be turned in at the Sheriff’s Office. No charges, no handcuffs, just help. We’d much rather safely take them off the street than see another unexpected “deposit,” said Monroe County Sheriff Derek Norman in the Facebook post.

Several social media users were bewildered by the incident, with one person writing, “I didn’t realize that you could be too stupid to do drugs!” and another posting “This is your brain on drugs….”
